[Hardy] No unmount option for memory stick, only eject option which gives an error

Bug Description

In Xubuntu Hardy, thunar does not give an option to unmount a memory stick, only an eject option (even though there's no way to have software eject the drive: it has to be done manually).

When I select eject, it gives an error that it cannot eject the device, although it does dismount it.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. There has been no communication for over two months, I am setting the report to invalid until it can be verified as still causing problems.

Is this an issue for you in Hardy Heron, Version 8.04, which is the latest version of Ubuntu released? I attempted to duplicate this, but I did have an unmount command in "Places" which worked as expected.

Let us know if you are still having this issue. To reopen the bug report you can click on the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back to "New". That will alert us that this is still a problem. Thanks again!

Changed in thunar:
status: New → Invalid

Yes.

I've just tried it again with a SanDisk memory stick. "Unmount" is greyed
out, and "Eject" is the only option. However, "Eject" is no longer giving
me an error.

Since I am no longer getting an error, I am satisfied that it's fixed.

Is this a duplicate of bug 199005, Unmount is not possible on floppy drives? Even though different storage is involved, both give an error when using "Eject Volume" in Thunar.
