Bug Description

Good morning.
I want to install ubuntu 23.10.1
I accept the software update.
I choose the installation with as few things as possible.

It cannot be installed because there is no O.S. here.

I'm going back.
I then ask to install as much software as possible.

It cannot be installed because there is no O.S. here.

I think the answer is that there is no O.S. in the installation media.
This surprises me enormously.

Thank you for the screenshots geole0, that was quite helpful.

Basically, after another error (LP: #2040052), this text was shown. This could be clarified into a fatal error type screen, as the install is stopped and not able to continue.

Note that this is different from a blank disks behavior, which would successfully return a storage configuration.

Confirming that this also affects me. The same happens on safe graphics mode. Haven't found a workaround for the issue and cannot install Ubuntu 23.10.1.

Closing that ubuntu-desktop-installer report since the component is deprecated. We aren't going to fix 23.10 installer bugs at this point and Noble uses ubuntu-desktop-provision, feel free to reopen/reassign to that component if that's still an issue with the noble beta image
