Bug Description

Ubuntu-Budgie 23.10 20231010.1

Running manual partitioning testcase on a QEMU/KVM VM. Installer subsequently crashed, so unfortunately no data available from live ISO session.

Manual partitioning was setup without difficulty. Likewise "where are you". But during "Who are you" setup, I was not able to enter a password before the slideshow began and I no longer had access to that screen. I was able to enter PC name, but that's all. The partition manager doesn't appear to have actually written anything to disk. (Original partitions are still there.)

I ran the procedure twice, and it happened both times.

Added ubuntu-desktop-installer since this is likely due to one of the shared components

I can't reproduce this.

Likely though to be a mirror repo issue that you had with bug report https://launchpad.net/bugs/2038987

Would need the /var/log/installer folder contents to confirm.

I'll try it again and see if I can retrieve the folder.

OK, it allowed me to copy the installer folder archive to a USB drive. Attached.

hmm - Could you use software-properties-gtk and change the server you are downloading from? - choose the main server or US archive server

I checked the server before running the installer -- it was set to main server. Ran the installer, did not select a timezone this time. (I thought maybe changing it to NZ might change the server.) Slideshow kicked in prematurely as previously. I closed the installer, checked that the main server was still selected, which it was.

As soon as I start typing in the password field, the slideshow starts.

It is failing on apt-get update, like listed in LP: #2038987. These bugs are duplicates.
