Update: A 2nd drive on the PC had a new partition table with no partitions. Once a partition was created and drive was formatted. Ubiquity presented the auto resize option.

IMHO, I still think this qualifies as a low priority bug.

This exact situation is occurring on Ubuntu Studio 20230910. I cannot narrow it down as to why, but this removes the Qt interface as the common factor (Ubuntu Studio uses the GTK interface for Ubiqiuty). If there was a change to partman that happened to cause this, I'm not sure, but we might need to narrow this down. Further testing will occur using Ubuntu Desktop Legacy.

Ok, so upon testing in a virtual machine with 64GB, I can now revise my previous test: Ubuntu Studio needs a minimum of 24.4GB to uncompress the squashfs and add a swapfile before removing ubiquity and its dependencies. With my previous test, it only had 15GB to deal with, so it was denied the required space and did not have the option to auto-resize. (see screenshot).

Leaving as confirmed, but setting priority to low.

Upon further consideration of this bug (and lying partially awake at night thinking about it with my bug team/triage hat on), I can no longer consider this bug as confirmed since I was able to remove a variable: not enough space. Therefore, in the interest of keeping this bug from being open indefinitely, I'm going to mark it as incomplete.

This simply means that, in the next 60 days, if someone can confirm it, they can mark it as Confirmed and comment with how it was reproduced. However, if it was reproduced with an expected condition (not enough space to accomplish the auto-resize/dual-boot situation), then it's still incomplete or invalid as that's expected. If it cannot be confirmed, it will close as expired.
