On startup it open a new empty pad even if that option is unchecked

Bug Description
On startup, I see my pads (notes) opened and it opens a new empty pad, even if the Startup > "Open a new empty pad" is unchecked.
I can't tell which version I have installed, that information is not on the help or configuration screens.
