Bug Description

After a software update, S3 suspend stopped working. It is only possible now to suspend to idle. Trying to manually modify the /sys/power/mem_sleep to deep results in the laptop suspending but it is not able to resume.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Bug reporting is about finding & fixing problems thus preventing future users from hitting the same bug.

I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709

( You've filed this as an issue related to `do-release-upgrade` though it appears your installed system was Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, and you're still using 22.04 having not yet upgraded your system to a later release (such as Ubuntu 23.04) If you have an issue, it maybe related to the kernel, thus incorrectly filed; but you'd likely benefit more from support )
