Tooltips cause the window to flicker in fullscreen mode

Binary package hint: evince

Mousing over something that brings up a tooltip (the previous/next buttons, for instance) works fine when evince is not in fullscreen mode. When it is, the fading-in action of the tooltip (I'm using Compiz) seems to make evince flicker while the tooltip is fading in. Once it's faded in, evince stops flickering. This only happens when in fullscreen mode (press F11).

I confirm this bug both for Gutsy and Hardy. It is somehow related to compiz. When compiz is not used (desktop effects are turned off), everything is ok.

This is a duplicate of bug 153204 as the workaround mentioned there works for the reporter.
Bug 224893 is similar but is referring to opengl applications with ati cards.
