Hi Julius,

Yes, it's same issue. Thanks for the link.

On 23.04, the fwupd is 1.9.4-2, it could recognize the FPC Sensor.

├─Sensor Controller:
│ Device ID: 65a54fb6ce182f0e75edf0e43047d547a0d61f0e
│ Summary: FPC fingerprint sensor
│ Current version: 27.26.23.5
│ Vendor: FPC (USB:0x10A5)
│ Install Duration: 15 seconds
│ GUID: bcb666d2-d13b-5295-b6ef-32a3f4ba8737 ← USB\VID_10A5&PID_9800
│ Device Flags: • Updatable
│ • Supported on remote server
│ • Signed Payload

And I installed the fwupd from snap's edge channel, it didn't work.

According the build logs, fpc plugin built in fine.

Does it work with snap version of fwupdtool?

Hi Mario,

Currently fwupdtool couldn't work too, besides the FPC device, I found other USB devices could not be loaded too, I doubt it's related to permission of visiting USB devices. It prompts 'Input/Out Error'. Thanks!

Can you open issue upstream and add verbose log for fwupdtool?

Also check kernel log for any issues with apparmor.

I've filed a bug upstream on this issue. I feel it's probably a snapd problem.
In any case Ubuntu doesn't install the snap by default so this isn't a bug for 'Ubuntu's fwupd package'. I'm going to close the Ubuntu bug for it, and we can discuss the root cause for the snap issue in the upstream tracker.
