Bug Description

Binary package hint: language-pack-es

The jockey-gtk application (System->Administration->Hardware Drivers) appears in English in my Spanish desktop, although it's fully translated into Spanish in Launchpad.

The problem is that the translations .mo file has a wrong filename. It is 'jokey.mo', but it must be 'jockey.mo'.

So, please, change the filename from

/usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGE/jokey.mo

to

/usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGE/jockey.mo

in order to get jockey-gtk translated into Spanish.

At the same time, the /usr/share/applications/jockey-gtk.desktop file is not translated into Spanish, neither, so the 'Hardware Drivers' menu entry appears in English, too, instead of Spanish. I think it's a related problem.

Any progress with this bug? Jockey-gtk is still in English, and the fix is very easy (it's just a jokey.mo -> jockey.mo typo!).

The problem is fixed now! Jockey-gtk now appears in Spanish... Although I think there's something wrong now:

Now there're two .mo files: jokey.mo and jockey.mo:

ricardo@kadath:~$ ls -l /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/jo*key.mo
12 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8822 2008-03-23 06:03 /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/jockey.mo
12 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8852 2008-03-23 06:03 /usr/share/locale-langpack/es/LC_MESSAGES/jokey.mo
ricardo@kadath:~$

Is jokey.mo really needed? It don't bother me :) but I don't know if that is right.

Thanks.

The "jokey" domain does not come from the jockey source package. Jeroen, Danilo, Carlos, any idea where that comes from?

I already fixed this typo a while ago and is now released in latest language pack. The old one with the typo will go away once a full base lang pack is generated.

Language packs which are currently being uploaded do not have the erroneous 'jokey.mo' any more.
