Does this happen all the time or is this a one time ocurrence?

It happens all the time, when I run "displayconfig" from the command line (just tested it for another bug).
Apparently, there are a stale .pyc files left in /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance, e.g.:
$ ll /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance/xorgconfig.pyc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 26435 2006-09-22 03:07 /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance/xorgconfig.pyc

After having it moved away, it complained about xf86misc.pyc and so forth.

I've now removed /usr/share/python-support/kde-guidance/*.pyc and it works.

It seems that the files have moved to guidance-backends, but the precompiled files have been left there.
The .py files are now in /usr/share/python-support/guidance-backends/ (guidance-backends).

This is quite odd as those were in guidance backends on Gutsy too.

It makes sense: this machine has been only (dist-)upgraded from Hoary Hedgehog onwards and I may not have used this tool in Gutsy (or something else prevented it to fail instead).

Does it make sense to fix it in postinst?

Displayconfig is unmaintained and nonexistent in Intrepid, so this won't be fixed.

Changed in kde-guidance:
