Bug Description

https://pypi.org/project/subunit/ exists and is basically a distribution of some version of python-subunit, annotated as `0.0.0a0`. If a project asks for "subunit" then it will get that project - not https://pypi.org/project/python-subunit/ which appears to be the official project presence on pypi.

Since https://pypi.org/project/subunit/ is _some_ version of subunit this mistake is not immediately apparent but since that pypi presence doesn't appear to be actively maintained (let alone by the upstream python-subunit maintainers) it's a bad idea for any project to actually go ahead and use it.

The uploader is https://launchpad.net/~tagrain and has offered to hand off control of the pypi project to someone who wants to sort out the situation.

Does someone?

So it seems like we'd need to keep both the 'subunit' and 'python-subunit' names up to date (at least for a while). We can either upload subunit to both (but would have to keep doing that for future releases), or have one be a dummy distribution that depends on the other?

I personally prefer "subunit" as primary package since "python-" seems a bit redundant, but I think Robert originally named it "python-subunit" and that's what everything is using today.
