You can restore your notes. Have a look at the README.debian included in the package. This is still a bug though.

It's in /usr/share/doc/xfce4-notes-plugin/NEWS.Debian.gz actually. ;)

I've a package ready that should handle the config transition:

Please test (if possible).

I created 3 notes numbered 1, 2 and 3 with xfce4-notes-plugin 1.4 from gutsy, then installed Gauvain's package.

Now I've my three notes showing up correctly, but they are numbered 01, 02 and 03 and an empty note numbered 1 was created.

The content of notes.rc.bak :

[settings]
pos_x=519
pos_y=378
width=242
height=200
visible=false
show=false
task_switcher=true
always_on_top=false
stick=true
statusbar=true

[notes]
note0=Test 1
note1=Test 2
note2=Test balfddgsdgs

Sorry my firefox is broken, I could not attach it.

I don't see the same behaviour with this notes.rc, odd (01, 02 and 03 are there, but I don't have a new empty note).
I'll try to investigate but I think that the transition is working at least, even if it can be improved.
