In general, snaps are noticeably faster than they used to be, but this one is particularly bad. It takes several seconds to start with an SSD and there is no launch feedback. It's still slow even after first launch. Native and flatpak versions perform much better on the same hardware. I'm on a ThinkPad X1 Extreme.

I suspect related to the startup speed, actual movement around in the apps is much slower in the snap than in the Flatpak or deb (ex. movement between cells or scrolling a sheet in Calc visibly lags behind the keystrokes or mouse movement).

Same problem here across all LibreOffice apps. Snap version several seconds slower to start and is slower when handling large files.

In a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04, the snap version of LibreOffice Writer takes ~9-10 seconds until it is usable.

The PPA version (ppa:libreoffice/ppa) takes ~2-3 seconds.

This is with a i9-9880H with 64GiB of RAM.
