Bug Description

I have a ATI Radeon GPU (using the free drivers, mainly because fglrx keeps not working)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY
And since I updated to Gutsy, Gimp has a very embarassing green trace after the cursor... Like on this screenshot

I attached my xorg.conf

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

I see that light green trace to.
At Debian etch everything worked just worked fine, i sat up ubuntu (Hardy up to date) i suddenly began to see that trace.
I'm posting here under that bug couse I've got a "Radeon VE 7000", too.

Confirming; this reliably happens for me with gimp 2.4.5-1ubuntu2 under Hardy with an 'ATI Technologies Inc Radeon RV100 QY [Radeon 7000/VE]'. There isn't really a fix upstream; there's just a workaround to avoid triggering broken video drivers (add "(xor-color (color-rgb 1.0 1.0 1.0))" to ~/.gimp-2.4/gimprc) there. I'm adding a task for xserver-xorg-video-ati instead.

On second thought, the workaround could be made part of the default gimprc, so there should be a task open on gimp. Marking as confirmed.

And on the gripping hand, this has already been sent upstream in a previously-filed bug, bug 156556. Marking as a duplicate.
