Bug Description

The Launchpad logo on https://launchpad.net/ is displayed as an image comprising a graphical logo and the words "Canonical" and "Launchpad". This image is low resolution (300x87) and looks quite terrible in a zoomed-in view (which I would think might be common in a world of UHD displays in the 27" size).

The logo for the "Launchpad itself" project, https://launchpad.net/launchpad, is also low resolution (64x64) and looks equally terrible in a zoomed-in view, but at least it only contains the graphical part; the text "Launchpad itself" is not part of the image.

Clint, can you attach some screenshots to illustrate the issue clearly?

The new logo dimensions were chosen to match that of the previous logo. I guess we could try using an SVG image to make it look okay even in cases like this.

This is due to the restrictions mentioned in the branding change page, https://launchpad.net/launchpad/+branding (this is common to all projects on Launchpad).

In my experience, these looked okay on a 32-inch UHD display at 200% scaling.

The logo issue popped up today again when I did a performance check of Launchpad.

It looks like the logo misses height and width set in HTML, but rather gets a width assigned by CSS of 250 px, although the image is 300 in width.

Do we have any plans to use a SVG any time soon?

If not, I would like to create an MP to set height and width in HTML. While not fixing the zooming issue, this would at least fix the performance issue for now.
