Bug Description
I booted the ubuntu-
After the partitioning phase, I got an error message of a missing EFI system partition.
This error message is erronous, since the laptop boots only in BIOS mode.
Grub is still installed correctly to MBR.

( Are you sure you weren't reading an expected WARNING message (may not boot) as if it was an error message? It's also possible to get an actual error message because you wrote the ISO differently to the method intended for installation media (which can cause the installer to wrongly calculate its an EFI machine due to ESP existing on installation media), but we can't currently know as you didn't file report from your actual media or install & thus no logs are available )
