Upgrading to Ubuntu 23.04 I got
The upgrade will continue but the 'linux-image-6.2.0-24-generic' package may not be in a working state. Please consider submitting a bug report about it.

I've been able to boot into kernel 5.19.0-46-generic. Still unable to get kernel 6.2.0-24-generic working. Doing sudo apt update I get the following:

You have unsupported DKMS modules installed that prevent the kernel upgrade. Remove them and retry the upgrade:

$ dkms remove anbox-ashmem/1 --all
$ dkms remove anbox-binder/1 --all

Or you disable dkms autoinstall:

$ touch /etc/dkms/no-autoinstall

I was having a similar error with dpkg as follows --

In my case my grub configuration was erroring - I had added zswap to the system, and added the line "
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
zswap.enabled=1"

My mistake, the correct method to add the line is " GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash zswap.enabled=1"

After changing the grub file (sudo gedit grub), then running "sudo update-grub", my update and upgrade errors from dpkg vanished. I haven't rebooted yet, that is next!
