Bug Description

I'not really sure if this problem causes by grub or by lastest ubuntu 22.04.2 kernel.

Follow: I have always connected my USB HDD (front panel) and my wireless charging station (on motherboard USB port) but by some unknown reason this not working anymore since some short time.

But when I connect this devices on my Dell2209WA Monitor which have also USB Ports (plugged on motherboard USB port), both Devices working well.
It doesn't matter which USB port is used for the Monitor on the motherboard, it always works well, couln't find any information if this is maybe an "active" USB Port.

If I have connected my USB HDD directly in USB Port (equal on front panel or direct on motherboard USB port) from Ubuntu LTS startup, Ubuntu does not start, it hangs in black screen with the white (not blinking) cursor. This I don't have before! Seems that we have USB Problems, but I don't know which part of Ubuntu causes this, mean we had kernel and grub update a short time ago.

And the funny is, that my USB HDD shows me a blue LED, it gets power, this seems to work always but Ubuntu does not recognize them and does not mount them.

By the way: I use the grub from ppa ubuntu-uefi team here from launchpad.

If I should provide more additional info, please give me a hint with steps which i should do to verify the source for this problem. Thank you in advance.

Problem seems gone! Can it be that the deb package of VIM cause this problem?
Ths funny was, that this Package was not in my installed Apps List, i have searched VIM and then i was able to uninstall it.
This Package I have removed yesterday and today after reboot all USP-Port working well again.

I had VIM installed before my last Ubuntu reinstallation (about 4 weeks ago), maybe that was already the problem. Because all apps I had to reinstall manually after that only this VIM I have not installed, because I had it only times to test and do not need this anymore. Therefore, I had not even "auf dem Schirm" and of course no longer reinstalled, but it was probably still there somehow.
