Bug Description
I can't tell what is causing this problem, but the UI areas within Hexchat frequently glitch out, become black, and will become visible again if you scroll up/down within that UI element/window

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better (also your numerous bug reports & recent QA too!)
Ubuntu 23.04 is approaching EOL rather soon, with notices of that fact already out (https:/ /fridge. ubuntu. com/2023/ 12/15/ubuntu- 23-04-lunar- lobster- reaches- end-of- life-on- january- 25-2024/), so I suspect it'll be unlikely anyone will look at this. Testing for it on the development release maybe worthwhile, alas GTK2 & Wayland ....
( that app is very old & one of the few remaining GTK2 apps. I use hexchat myself, and haven't noticed this behavior (though I believe I have seen it before); I'm mostly running noble or the development release, and probably most critical Xorg (LXQt or Xfce most often) )
