Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

i am not sure if https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/194430 is related. recent (today) hardy gives a white screen when switching users.

1. create another user
2. switch to the other user: gdm pops up normally
3. switch back to the original user: gdm pops up with white on white.
4. any further user switch pops up white on white screen.
(it works though, you just cannot see anything).

graphic card: nvidia geforce 7300se.

Are you using the fast-user-switch-applet in order to change users? If so this might be a duplicate of Bug #145208
