Bug Description

Livepatch client reports that "The current kernel (5.4.0-1102-aws-fips, amd64) is not supported by livepatch." but the supported kernels page (https://ubuntu.com/security/livepatch/docs/livepatch/reference/kernels) indicates that this kernel should be reported.

This bug is a result of the Livepatch server incorrectly parsing the kernel version string "5.4.0-1102-aws-fips". A fix has been made but not deployed yet due to a Juju bug blocking deployment here - https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju/+bug/1999640

The problem is fortunately not a critical bug, as the "supported kernel" status is purely informational in the sense that patches are still delivered to all machines if any patches are available, regardless of the machines "supported status".
