don't specify hardy to the title or it'll need to be updated every cycle, you can use the description

Confirming the bug. The attachment is a gdmXnest screenshot with the error message shifted (system-language is russian).

Reproduced here too on a widescreen monitor (1440x900).
Increasing priority of this bug to high as it makes reading the error message almost impossible.

This bug does not exist in the GNOME login screens.

In those screens the error message is below the dialogue box.

This happens on 1024*768 and 800*600 also.
In these cases the dialogue box masks the information.

It exists in the system updated less than an hour ago.

"Me too". In my case, the warning is displayed *under* the username text, making it partially obscured. 1680x1050 here.

Sorry about, but now the "Caps Lock is On" message is displayed over the "incorrect user name" message. Try out:

1. Type an incorrect user name (or password).
2. The "incorrect username" message is displayed.
3. Press the CapsLock key.
4. The "Caps Lock is On" message is displayed over the "incorrect user name" message.

Confirming that this solves the initial problem, but also that there is still the problem of the "caps lock is on" message overlapping, as reported by Sr. López.

Ken,

This bug is marked as 'fix committed', but I don't see any commits to the ubuntu-gdm-themes bzr branch that haven't been uploaded - should this be marked 'fix released' instead, or is there a change for this committed somewhere else?

It took a while for the fix to be released after my commit so I left it there at the time. I'll change it to fix released as the bug is fixed.
