Bug Description
Binary package hint: base-installer
Release: hardy-alpha 6
Item: installation problem with server installation disk
Problem description:
Install hardy alpha 6, reboot and execute "apt-get update" and "apt-get upgrade"
1) ufw has a configuration problem, the upgrade process ends with an error
2) apt gets broken
3) system does not reboot
More specific description of apt problem:
apt-get update gives a memory error using a wrong free() statement
this appears to happen in the http module of apt
Expected result:
upgrade with no error, fully functional apt, a system which can still boot

Does it look like this:
*** glibc detected *** sudo: free(): invalid pointer: 0xb7ce3b28 ***
If so, this is a dupe of bug #201673.
