"Failed to scan" unable to connect to scanner - HP m175nw

This scanner has previously worked on other computers running Ubuntu.

However, it doesn't work on 23.04.
The scanner is on, and shows up in the front screen in simple-scan
When I press the scan button a dialog appears titled "Failed to scan" "Unable to connect to scanner".
