Bug Description

Binary package hint: kadu

Please sync kadu from Debian unstable.

On 2nd March Kadu Team released final release version of 0.6.0 . Final release fixes some bugs comparing to current release candidate in Ubuntu Hardy, including extensions, some possible crashes, updating static compiled library - libgadu, and translations.

I've been using this release since released on Ubuntu Gutsy and I haven't seen any problems. Furthermore I've been a kadu developer for some time, so I can triage and fix possible bugs.

I'm not uploading changelog, because changelog include only changes users will notice (new features). Between rc3 and stable there are no new features, but only bugfixes.

External modules are downloaded by the configure script and than compiled (on make) and installed (on make install). In Ubuntu most of them are in kadu-external-modules package.

Changelog since current hardy version 0.6.0~rc3.1-1:

 kadu (0.6.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

   * New upstream release
   * New external modules: anonymous_check, antistring, audacious_mediaplayer,
     auto_hide, cenzor, osdhints_notify, panelkadu, parser_extender,
     powerkadu, split_messages, word_fix
   * Added debian/patches/05-audacious_mediaplayer-spec.patch to fix
     compilation error in Debian

erm, I guess I don't understand about the external modules: these are part of the orig.tar.gz, aren't they? (as you cannot download s.th. on the buildds).

Others than that, I'm OK with it, ACK #1.

Yes. External modules are part of the orig.tar.gz .

I will quote part of Debian ChangeLog, where Patryk Cisek wrote about it:
"Kadu has a mechanism called "autodownload". It's purpose is to fetch
    external modules and themes (selected in .config file) by a configure
    script. This is unacceptable for Debian source package, because such data
    wouldn't be verifiable. external directory holds all these modules and
    themes and debian/extract.sh unpacks the tarballs, overriding autodownload
    mechanism."

BTW. Sorry for my English. It's not my native language ;)

RC to final release is generally a good idea. Ack #2 and confirmed. Subscribing ubuntu-universe-sponsors to sponsor the sync.
