Bug Description
After installing the latest grub (0.95+cvs200406
boot. The only thing on screen is "GRUB ". This bug appears to be similar to
http://
apparently installed correctly. (mark as dupe if this turns out to be the same
issue.)
Some info about the system:
- GRUB installed on /dev/hda
- /boot and / are on the same partition (hda2)
- WinXP on hda1
- IDE HD, WinXP set Bootable in partition table, not that it should make any
difference (tried setting / bootable)
- Computer is a Dell Latitude laptop with A15 bios
I'll provide more info when i know what to provide.

I have a similar experience, i installed it in the right spot (grub-install
/dev/hda) as has worked previously.
And I simply get "GRUB " on reboot, ctrl+alt+delete is functional so it doesn't
hard lock.
60GB HDD on ide0 master here, 6GB / with boot on it, 6GB windows then a 48GB
home and 512M swap
It's worth noting the first partiton, my 6GB primary is /dev/hda4 as it was
created last, my second partition (second in order on disk) is hda1, then hda2
and hda3.
