backup failed due to duplicity version

Bug Description
I am trying to backup on my older disk both has ububtu 20.04.6 LTS but the backup is not initiating due to the error "Could not understand duplicity version."
Déjà Dup Backup Tool: 40.7
I tried to run:

I have multiple version of python install (2.7.18 & 3.10.11). However when I run
$ sudo emacs /usr/bin/duplicity
I change the first line from #!/usr/bin/python --> #!/usr/bin/python2
