It would be useful to have an announcements/staff news section in the bottom half of the staff portal page that administrators (whether global or local) could update with announcements and news relevant to library staff from within Evergreen.
We currently pull announcements from a public page on our wiki into the splash page but it would be better if it was fully integrated into Evergreen.

Although it is possible to add text-only messages in the current splash page admin interface, I like the idea of being able to give them their own dedicated section that stands out more.
