Bug Description

For Ubuntu:
* sudo apt-get install -y ubuntu-mate-desktop # mate-screensaver is dependent on MATE, it cannot be executed in GNOME for example
* reboot
* Select MATE as DE in the X11 display manager.

For Ubuntu MATE 22.04:
* No special consideration, just boot the distro.

Debian:
* Debian stable with MATE installed from tasksel tested.

#########################
The lock delay is "0" by default (source: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-screensaver/issues/282#issuecomment-1863700592). However, the lock delay in Ubuntu is set to 1 minute:

grep -rin "lock-delay=1" /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/
/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/10_mate-common.gschema.override:92:lock-delay=1

Now, the screensaver is password protected by default, so for security reasons, the screensaver lock protection should not be delayed.

How do I report the same bug to multiple (but not all) versions of Ubuntu? I tagged the distro names manually, is that leggit? Should I complement with apport data?

Hi David,

you can click on "target to series" right below the Affects table and there you select the affected Ubuntu releases.
