Bug Description
I have just run an apt upgrade (hardy) about an hour or two ago and since then I cannot run any programs anymore.
Already the update process failed with loads of errors. There seems to be a generic problem with libc or malloc, as any program I try and start crashes with stacktrace and a memory map printout. Programs that were still open during the update continued to work fine.
Unfortunately I cannot give any detailed descriptions of the errors at the moment, as I tried restarting my computer and it no longer boots either.
Please let me know if there is any way I can repair my ubuntu installation
Thank you

I have just seen this has already been reported as bug 201673 (https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ glibc/+ bug/201673). Hadn't seen it before, as it didn't seem to be listed under the hardy bugs
sorry for the noise.
