Bug Description

Installing with additional drivers or adding nvidia-driver-390 renders the system unusable.

On restart there are few lines of the usual kernal information then a brief orange flash follwed by black. System is unusable.

Is the GTX 675MX supported by this driver? If not, the option to use this driver should be removed.

Hi, you might want to have a look at the libnvidia-tls library selection/hack, posten on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-390/+bug/2016459

That prevented black screen/keyboard lockup for me (but after downgrading kernel to 5.19 to avoid copy vbios error).

Thank you for that. I'll have a look. I could also go back to Jammy as my primary OS on this machine.

I'm hoping for a fix in 23.10. I'll start testing the daily builds soon.

At a minimum the team could disable the nvidia driver for the GTX 675M. The open source driver does what it is supposed to do.

Looks like it is fixed after latest kernel/nvidia/library updates.
