libc6 fail to install

Bug Description

The libc6 upgrades for 12-March-2008 (20:00 UTC-7) for Hardy Alpha 6 failed corrupting my entire Hardy install.

couldfirmed - sudo and terminals are crashing. i386.

Confirmed for this AM. Can't get into recovery mode or any other kernel. Completely hosed.

Forgot to mention. Hardy 64 bit version. Guess it's time for reinstall.

Reinstall might not be the only option..
Booting with a rescue cd, and executing chroot /mnt dpkg -i libc6_2.7-5ubuntu2_i386.deb ( as mentioned in the bugreport which this one is a duplicate of ) should work fine!
