Bug Description

Under "Edit metadata" the "Published" box requires a year and a month, but often the month is not known. It should be possible to enter only a year.

I'm new to Calibre bug reporting, and sure of the protocol. This is not a big issue, but I think it should be possible to record the year of publication without the month.

Hence marked as an opinion and not an actual bug.

Really, this needs to be reported to the upstream developers as a feature request. Items of this nature do not make it to the actual developers, nor are they likely paying attention. If you want something changed, best make it with the actual developers, not the downstream distribution.
