problem playing mono sound files on totem

Hi....

I noticed that totem can play .rm files after installing a certain codec , but when I play files that have a low samplerate or any mono or even any .ra file I hear a really noisy sound instead of the real file . I was able to play this file on VLC and real player .

I don't know what you mean by example but I'll send you one of the files I tried to play .

Output is choppy when playing mono wav files. See examples at http://www.kakadu-usa.com/, a vendor of an advanced series of doorbells that use digitized sounds. Progress slider in Totem Movie Player 2.20.0 moves smoothly, but sound comes out in chunks, at about a 50% duty cycle, modulated at about a 1 Hz rate. In other words, the player produces sound for 0.5 second, then silence for 0.5 second, etc. Player reports the file as Uncompressed 16-bit PCM audio, Mono, 18000 Hz sample rate. Codecs for Quicktime movies were recently installed, but I don't know if this is related.

do you get the same with rhythmbox? does gst-launch playbin uri=file:///path/to/file shows you the same issue?
