Bug Description
There are no new features in the open-vm-tools 12.2.0 release. This is primarily a maintenance release that addresses a few critical problems, including:
* Linux quiesced snapshots have been updated to avoid intermittent hangs of the vmtoolsd process.
* Updated the guestOps to handle some edge cases when File_GetSize() fails or returns -1.
* A number of Coverity reported issues have been addressed.

Release Notes are available at: https:/
The granular changes that have gone into the 12.2.0 release are in the ChangeLog at: https:/
Please rebase open-vm-tools to release 12.2.o on supported Ubuntu releases as appropriate.

Hi John,
Thanks for reporting this one.
Since we are already in a development feature freeze for 23.04, and that open-vm-tools in Ubuntu is currently a sync with Debian, which is also in a freeze for its next release, it is more likely that this will only land in the next development cycle unless someone decides to pick this one up in the next 2 weeks (before the beta freeze).
If someone does decide to work on this bug during the feature freeze, one would need to double check whether a feature freeze exception is not needed (then we would fall in this case: https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/FreezeExcep tionProcess# FeatureFreeze_ for_bugfix- only_updates).
Since Debian is in a freeze as well, pushing this through Debian may not be feasible ATM, meaning we would need a delta to go ahead of Debian here.
In case this is not picked up by then (beta freeze), then it will be handled after the lunar (23.04) release next month.
