Bug Description

When running the live installer on an SiFive Unmatched board with an installed Radeon GPU we see messages "watchdog: BUG: soft lockup" in the kernel log. The system continues to boot fine.

We should add watchdog_thresh=60 to the kernel command line via /etc/default/grub.d/*.cfg.

why should this be set on the installer commandline as opposed to in the kernel itself?
