Hardy Heron. Latest update to 2.6.24-12-generic. Lost sound and system has trouble finding wireless card. Travelmate 6292.

I have added: options snd-hda-intel model=acer to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base at first installation - alpha1. I have checked and the change is still there. The comment I get is that it cannot find the hardware.

I can get ubuntu to see the wireless connection if I first boot into windows (I have dual boot with Vista) and connect to internet through the wireless connector.

I am not an advanced user and therefore cannot describe this in any better way.

The sound bug is a known issue affecting everyone. Hardy is currently alpha software and may not be the best choice to run if you are not an advanced user. Alpha software breaks all the time..
