linux-image-2.6.24-12-generic:
  Installed: 2.6.24-12.19

Discovered tonight after an upgrade that the new kernel was missing all the sound driver files. So when I rebooted I could not find any sound device at all... I have provided the dpkg -L listings. The first is labeled 2.6.24-11-generic.txt which worked properly and contained all the necessary driver files. I have also attached 2.6.24-12-generic.txt which is the dpkg -L listing against the current kernel and if you compare the two you can see that apparently the new kernel did not have the sound modules built at kernel build time.

For reference purposes I have attached the 2.6.24-11-generic dpkg -L listing. I forgot that launchpad still only permits one attachment at bug creation time :-(
