Bug Description
I am running bind9 on Ubuntu 22.04 and it has just been updated from the PPA to version i1:9.18.
[Service]
Type=simple
and that makes it stay running. However, it also means that the systemd watchdog is no longer checking that it is still running.

Thank you for the bug report. Unfortunately we do not have access to the isc's PPA to fix this bug, but this is a known issue. It has been fixed in the upcoming Lunar release using a patch to allow the service to use sd_notify to inform systemd that the process has started. We are also working on an update for the default Ubuntu version in 22.04 (LP: #2003586) which will have this fix in place. In the meantime you can contact the isc team directly for help with fixing the PPA:
