Sliders of the volume control doesn't work properly

Bug Description

My sound card is on the usb bus. Bus 004 Device 002: ID 0d8c:0201 C-Media Electronics, Inc.
Probably this problem doesn't happen on other cards, anyway I have never heard about it.

The problem :
I can control the volume with 'Speaker 1' , which consists of 6 sliders. So, when I try to increase or decrease the volume, something strange happens.
Even though the channels are blocked, so the volume for all channels should be the same, it's changing. For example when changing channel 1 , value of channel 2 goes to 0 or is jumping in other strange way. It is really difficult to set all of the channels to the same volume, especially to the max. I have tried ubuntu 7.10 and 8.04 and this problem is there.

Thank you for your bug report. Do you still have the issue using the current versions? Does using alsamixer works correctly?
