Bug Description

In Ubuntu 8.04 alfa 6, with Firefox 3, the current problem in Firefox with Javascript isn't solved. Up to 100 % CPU usage when visiting a website with a news ticker based on javascript. Such as newspaper portal www.kranten.com

Nasty problem, I hope it will be fixed before the final release of Hardy.

Greetz, Pjotr.

Since yesterday's updates, Firefox 3 has a problem with other java scripts as well. When I play a game of online chess on Yahoo Games, which is java based, the CPU load increases to 22 %. Far too much for an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2 GB of RAM.....

The problem with Java on Yahoo Games disappear when I disable Compiz. However, the problem remains with news tickers based on java script.

*** This is an automated response ***

Thank you for your bugreport. Since this seems to be an issue with
version 3 of the firefox browser, I'm reassigning the package. If you
feel this is an error, please don't hesitate to add a comment to your
report.

The bug is still there...

In my opinion mainly for FF 3.xx under Ubuntu 8.xx AMD 64

On Ubuntu 8.10 x86 FF works fine.

On nearly all pages combining JS and PHP the CPU load goes up to 100%.

Some examples are Browsergames like howrse.de or ikariam.de.
