For example, Firefox somehow tracks "latest/

In fact there is a latest/ stable/ ubuntu- 22.10 channel, it is currently open (expires 2022-11- 17T13:04: 56Z) and it contains version 106.0-1. It sounds like we simply forgot to close it. I've gone ahead and done that now, so your installation should be refreshed to the version in latest/stable now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
