Bug Description

I'm migrating from my old laptop to the new one. Both are Ubuntu 20.04: upgraded from 18.04 on the old laptop, fresh install on the new one.

I copied .thunderbird from my home dir on the old laptop to the new laptop and started Thunderbird.

I had expected it to start up with everything configured the way it was on the old laptop, with the same accounts-

What I get is the default "set up your existing e-mail account" page instead, as if I did not copy the .thunderbird dir from the old laptop to the new one.

I also tried importing the profile which causes no errors, but does nothing, either.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. My profile shows up when starting TB like that, yes.

And it's correctly loaded and used if you pick it?

@Sebastian: no, that's what this bug report is about. I've attached screenshots to show what I see. TB sees the default profile, does not (as far as I can tell) complain in the console) but does not load the accounts configured under the selected profile and instead shows a pristine, fresh install welcome screen.
