This is a ZFS install + Encryption.

Testing ZFS install without Encryption, boots normally

I tested this in QEMU/KVM with https://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/20221018/ (latest at the time of writing), and was not able to reproduce. My install finished successfully, and I was then able to decrypt my disk and log in normally.

I see a kerneloops in the syslog. Suspect its a kernel issue of some sort with the macbook hardware plus zfs plus encryption.

Tested also without clicking the proprietary option and it still crashes so its not a combination of broadcom + zfs + encryption.

OK. This isn't a zfs issue.

With ext4 + encryption the boot after install drops to initramfs

With ext4 and no encryption the macbook boots to logon screen just fine.

So is the encryption option common between zfs and ext4?

summary: - ZFS + Encryption crash after install
+ Encryption causes crash after install
