This patch applies to serpentine_0.9-2 from Sid. The changes relative to the existing hardy version is the following (cf. debian/changelog). Please notice that several bugs are closed by this patch.

serpentine (0.9-2ubuntu1) hardy; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #199277)
  * debian/control:
    - build using the current python version
    - use a recommends on gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly, not a depends
    - drop python-libxml dependenciers (LP: #199014)
  * debian/patches/python2.4-compat.patch:
    - dropped, Ubuntu doesn't use this version

  [ Ralph Janke ]

serpentine (0.9-2) unstable; urgency=low

  * Register as a CD-audio burning application with gnome-volume-manager
    (closes: #450859).
  * Added plugsuspend_new-interface.patch: work with the new dbus interface
    provided by gnome-power-manager 2.20 (closes: #459239). Thanks Sebastian
    Dröge!
  * Build-Depend upon cli-common-dev 0.4.4 as needed by dh_clideps.
  * Add Dm-Upload-Allowed field to control fields.
  * No longer run the obsolete dh_python.
  * Split build dependencies over multiple lines.
  * Build-depend on gconf2 because the configure script tries to run
    gconftool-2.
  * Update to policy 3.7.3 (no changes).
  * Quote the '.' characters in the domain name in the watch file.
  * Relax build-dependancy on cdbs: remove the Debian revision.

Looks like mere bug fixes to me -> no need for a FFe then, unsubuscribing motu-release.

Oh, found a typo in your changelog: "drop python-libxml dependencie_r_s" ;).

Morten, is something wrong with the patch?

I can cook up a version that uses 'elementtree' instead of 'python-xml-4suite'.

It looks to me like your patch does more than just solve the python-xml problem. We are late in the release cycle, so I'd appreciate a minimal patch that does no more than deal with python-xml.

could somebody tell to the debian maintainer to drop the menu item name and comments changes too, that breaks translations for no good reason

why is a merge needed at all? looks fine for me to just sync the -4 version.

Because -4 wasn't in the archive when this was opened. Looking at the
changelog, I agree.

0.9-5 is in Debian now and needs a slight bit of merging still. I'll upload it shortly.
