Unable to install via updater/synaptic, seems like it gets hosed on update-python-modules. I'll try to find a fix for my python issue, and then post back.

I am still having problems with my Ubuntu64 system.
python-gobject is also failing

No clue as to what to try.

I have tried copying everything except /etc (/lib /usr /boot /var) from a good working machine of the same current install state.
Totally hosed the machine.
Then I booted from a live CD, did a chroot into mounted partition.
Then I ran apt-get upadate, apt-get upgrade. It upgraded several hundred packages, but still failed on these two.

python-gobject has an issue that I think got resolved today. kde-guidance had a problem with the hal that was uploaded ~20 hours ago, but that was fixed by another upload ~10 hours ago. So if those are your only problems, I counsel patience and updating. In the future please don't hijack random bugs and make comments. Your comment is completely unrelated to this bug. If you are having a problem, feel free to file a new bug, but commenting on old one just confuses the picture.
