Bug Description

With 5.4.8-1 we see the following build failure on pcc64el (only). This seems to not be affecting 5.4.7 or earlier:

autopkgtest [07:43:27]: test build-lib: [-----------------------
build: OK
1a2,3
> Match for pattern "ba" at offset 2
> Match for pattern "ba" at offset 5
autopkgtest [07:43:28]: test build-lib: -----------------------]

This FTBFS issue also affects Debian on the same architecture, reported as this bug:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1021079

I am not spotting an obvious report upstream, so maybe it still needs forwarded to them.
