Bug Description

Whenever I try to generate a report in GnuCash it fails with a segmentation fault. It doesn't matter which report I generate or which accounts / files I am using.

About two weeks ago, everything was working fine. GnuCash package version: 1:4.8-1build2

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
    ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself.

Hi! I had to reboot my machine in the meantime and now the segfault is gone. I don't know why, though. There haven't been any changes, especially no updates, just a reboot.

Before the reboot, I reproduced the segfault at least 10 times, but now it's gone. So maybe this bug report should be closed...

But if you still like to have a look at the initial crash report, this is the link: https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/062f1e04-3db5-11ed-a715-fa163e55efd0

Btw, while trying to unpack the gnucash crash report, apport also crashed and created this report: https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/68c526a2-3db9-11ed-a715-fa163e55efd0

Thanks for investigating!

the error report indicates a segfault in webkitgtk calls after using libwayland so maybe there was something wrong with the state of the system, hard to say at this point...
