Thanks for the bug report.

This appears to be either a hardware problem or a bug in the Nvidia driver. I think most likely it's due to insufficient HDMI cable bandwidth. Please ensure you are using an HDMI 2.1 certified cable capable of at least 40 Gbit/s. An HDMI 2.0 cable will not be good enough.

Im sure it's an HDMI 2.1 cable because this cable can reach 4k 144hz when using Windows. Is there something wrong with my settings?

Please try:

1. Open Settings.

2. Open a Terminal and run:

   journalctl -f > logtail.txt

3. In Settings, try to set the refresh rate to 144Hz.

4. When the screen returns, press Ctrl+C in the Terminal window.

5. Attach the resulting text file here.

Thanks. The log seems to confirm the monitor rejected the 144Hz mode and then the system reverted back to 60Hz after 20 seconds. So it seems like this is either an Nvidia driver problem (incompatible mode definition?) or insufficient bandwidth in the connection to the monitor.

Did you define the 144Hz mode yourself or was it always offered in Settings?
