Ubuntu Studio 7.10 Installation Problem
The installation, without giving any error, stops at 90% at "Select and install software".
It only displays "Please Wait...".

If you're doing a full install this can take quite some time. Without more info, I will mark this as invalid soon.

I tried to install 3 times. Everytime I waited for over an hour, but it did not continue and stayed at the same point.
I have 1GB Ram, and over 20 GB free space.

How many option were you installing? If you are installing all the meta, it can take a very, _very_ long time.

I chose to install all of the five options.
Maybe you are right, that could be the reason.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Doing a clean install on a ASUS x64 system using the Studio 64bit version. Installing to brand clean new 1TB Western Digital drive.
Installation proceeds apace until it reaches Installing Software. At that point it stalls and eventually reports that it has failed. Option to try again taken several times - none successful. At one point it appeared that the install was acquiring and storing the MS Core fonts. I have no idea if it did - whatever happened it did not change the outcome.

Eventually, I chose to continue with the next step in the install; Load Grub or some such. That ran about 45 seconds before reporting it was not able to do that. I tried the Grub 2 process - no luck there either. Then decided to make another effort and see if LILO would load. It did not - tried to finish installation - to a dead system. No screen display at all, etc.

I really do not know what more I could do to make this installation successful. I have completely aborted, closed, rebooted and variants of all that. The disc checks free of errors, yet it will not install. Bah, humbug - and that is way early!

This bug has been open for a long time, and I have not been able to reproduce it over the last three releases. I am marking it as incomplete, and it will eventually expire. Please re-open, or submit a new bug if I am closing it in error.
